Feeling The World Differently and The Sensory Experiences Project.

Our mission statement.

Those of us who feel and see and hear the world differently would like to be seen and heard and understood.

We are different but we are equal.

I work with schools and parents’ groups and find far too much ignorance and discrimination.

I liaise and present to business and hospitality and find far too much ignorance and discrimination.

I speak to family, friends and neighbours, and find an incredible amount of ignorance and discrimination.

Feeling The World Differently and The Sensory Experiences Project aims to change this by collecting stories from across communities and explaining in ways that will encourage and facilitate change.

The Sensory Experiences Project will collect descriptions and thoughts and produce a book about us, with language that helps people to break down their presumptions about us. If the sensory experience is happening to hundreds of people it can no longer be dismissed or ignored.

The Sensory Experiences Project will collate and create check-lists for self identity and recognition which can be posted and distributed to doctors, schools, business and hospitality and more.

As part of our project, no-one will be excluded. We want to include people who feel the world differently and from those who don’t. It will no doubt be the case, then when difference is better recognised, more people will identify themselves.

As part of The Challenge and Change CIC business will be encouraged to register for short training sessions and to gain our accreditation of being friendly to difference. They will also be asked to pledge money to buy the book to help more community initiatives.

I have self published on Amazon but this prevents selling elsewhere. If we can publish ourselves then we can arrange talks, presentations and much more to promote our book and our desire to change the world.

We will create a logo and a pledge for business and hospitality. By focussing on their ESG policies and their requirement for strategies for inclusion, diversity and equality, we can recommend changes and thus create places where we feel safer to be ourselves and even to disclose.

Am I an idealist and an optimist? Well what other choice is there?
